MARIONETTES & MUSIC
Music is the language of the marionette.
This applied in the 18th century for the marionette-opera's which Joseph Haydn wrote for the court theatre of Esterhazy, and it applies today for the marionettes appearing in the Amsterdam Marionette Theatre.
We choose for opera's / music theatre which specifically suit the marionettes: a pastoral play by Mozart, an opera-comique by Offenbach, Mozarts 'fairy tale opera' Die Zauberflote.
